The village of Mmazame in Mara, Tanzania is linked with the parish of St Mary, Luddenden, Halifax, as part of a wider Diocesan link between the Anglican Diocese of Leeds in the UK and the Diocese of Mara. Over a period of several years the two parishes and secured an intimate bond with a number of visits by UK parish volunteers to assist with self sufficiency projects.
On this occasion, money was raised to enable a goat shed to be constructed and the start a community goat farm as well as providing sewing machines for the women to start a micro business.
