Debbie Reeves – Healthcare Cleaner and Cover Supervisor with ISS at Calderdale Royal Hospital
"Since this pandemic started I’ve been assigned to clean on ICU. It’s really hard working there in full PPE, very tiring and draining, but we just go and get on with the job and do the best we can, cleaning to the high standards it deserves. Other than me there are also 140 members of the cleaning team at CRH who, I’d like to say, are amazing and doing a fantastic job as well. I did have symptoms recently, really sore throat and swollen glands and I did feel quite poorly but I had a test and it did come back negative which I was very relieved about.
I have also been crocheting small key rings and selling them for £1.50 and with the money I raised, I raised about £150, I bought lip balms, hand creams, hand washes and shower gels which I took into work this weekend for all the cleaning staff so they all get a little treat just to say thank you."
