Louise Warden – Teaching assistant at Luddenden CE School, Jeremy Warden – Veterinary Surgeon at Halifax ‘Vets for Pets’
Louise:
"We’re on a rota at the moment at school, going in about every two weeks for the children of key workers so it is strange not having school as normal but its good to be able to go in and help the families who need our support. I want to say ‘hello’ to all the staff and children at the school!"
Jeremy:
"The pandemic has affected how we work greatly. We take guidance from the Government and the Royal College on how we can continue working and initially we only provided an emergency service when the lockdown began but gradually, and as time has passed, we now see more than just emergencies. But no clients are allowed in the practice so we’re doing telephone consults in the carpark, which slows everything down and we have PPE in the surgery so we take the animal in, examine, talk again with the owners with options and give treatment before bringing the animals back to the owners. So it’s difficult and it slows the whole process down. We’re split into two groups in case one group have to isolate to continue on. But things are changing all the time. I want to give a big shout out to all the staff at ‘Vets for Pets’ for their continued work and dedication through this time."
