I am very fortunate to be 5 minutes walking form Wade Wood - and ancient oak/birch wood in Luddenden Dene, Calder Valley near Halifax
'OAK TREE" is a project I literally stumbled across while walking in the wood looking to experiment with my panorama pinhole camera and some black and white film. Most of the trees in the wood are wind swept, gnarled and not huge despite their age so it came as a surprise to find this particular oak tree standing tall but also on the edge of a small clearing. I was captivated and proceeded to take its portrait and I have returned at various times of the year and seasons. An ongoing project which also captures the character of the wood itself.
The camera is a Vermeer 6x17cm curved plane panoramic pinhole using 120 film both Ilford Delta 100 and Agfa Acros 100. The images are shown full frame
